Ghost Skip
Ghost Skip is High Level strategy in Wasteyard that involves skipping the first Ghost Transformation in the escape sequence. Due to its high difficulty it is not recommended to beginners, but is fully consistent with enough practice. Ghost Skip saves 8 seconds over playing the room normally. Both Peppino and the Noise can perform Ghost Skip, although they need different setups.
As Peppino
To perform Ghost Skip, enter the room and do a Grab Slide, then do 2 long jumps to get to the highest part of the room. Once you are on that platform you need to grab slide, and hold DOWN to maintain your Grabslide and RUN until you are in the circled position.
]
Once you get there, release DOWN and immediately press GRAB. Let go of any direction keys you are holding and RUN. This should result in Spin Grabbing the Bandito and breaking both destructible blocks.
Let go of the Bandito by pressing DOWN, then TAUNT. From this point on there are multiple setups you can pick from, this page will only go over one. When the Bandito gets to the circled lip, Grab Slide and begin holding LEFT.
You should Grab Slide directly into the wall and begin falling. When you have fallen enough you will land on top of the Bandito, once this occurs you must Uppercut and continue holding left.
This should result in the Bandito being directly next to the hole leading to Pillar John. Press DOWN and LEFT to begin crouching and enter the hole, then press RIGHT and release DOWN such that you are partially outside of the hole yet remain crouched.
When the candle spawned by the Bandito lands, it will damage you. When this happens, press GRAB to grab the Bandito, then LEFT to go through the wall.
On the other side of the wall, press DOWN and TAUNT to activate the Bandito, then walk off the ledge. Once you are airborne press GRAB and hold RUN until you get to the Metal Block. At the Metal Block break it then immediately Mach Cancel, then GRAB RIGHT to grab the Bandito. Then turn LEFT to throw the Bandito at Pillar John on the other side of the John Blocks. You can also delay the taunt to make the final grab for the Bandito more lenient, at the cost of being slower.

“The Candle doesn’t go toward me. This means that you grabbed the Bandito too late.
“Only one of the destructible blocks broke at the beginning. This means you didn’t Grab Slide long enough.
“I took damage but didn’t get the Bandito. You pressed GRAB too early.
“I broke the Metal Block but also broke Pillar John.” You didn’t Mach Cancel fast enough.
“I didn’t land on the Bandito.” This depends based on setup, but for this one you mistimed the Grab Slide you just did. Notably with this setup the exact range the Bandito can be in for a Grab Slide to work varies slightly with how far the Spin Grab went.
“I grabbed the other direction at the end but didn’t get the Bandito. You weren’t fast enough with the opposite direction GRAB.
